Goodbye Mom

Goodbye is a simple word
I have yet to learn to say
I have used it so very many times
but it was never final,
until I used it today.
I can still see your face and
your touch is still warm
so why must I send you off and
stay here to mourn?
”Until we meet again.”
Is more appropriate, I know
because you will be waiting for me
when it is my time to go
so for now I will not
say goodbye to you
but simply say
I will see you soon.
