Just Reach…
By Jerry Lynn Bayless
In memory of Christian Balke Bayless
Just reach…

One day here the next day gone only if time could change and go back
crying would turn to laughter
Memories are faint but still vivid etched in the back of my mind and burning in my heart.

Just reach…

Laughter faded to sheer tears, flames turning to smoldering coals,
tears and a flash of him standing
Alone are dimming and white lights of hope turn dark
one chance to grasp on and hold tight gone.

Just reach…

Now and always, forever and eternal honest love and aspirations
solid memories of 12 short days
turn into a lifetime of growing thoughts.

Just reach…

Sincere and everlasting love,
Dad
