Q & A
Are strollers and pets allowed?
Strollers are allowed, but unfortunately pets will not be allowed this year. We do encourage you to bring your entire 2-legged family, regardless of their age, to participate in this event.
Do I have to register online?
No. You can download the registration form here, and mail with a check to:
Infants Remembered in Silence
101 Third Street NW
Faribault, MN 55021
Will the event take place indoors or outdoors?
Both! Registration will be inside the Shattuck-St. Mary's Sports Complex (1000 Shumway Avenue, Faribault, MN ), and the event will include a lap around the track. The rest of the route will be outdoors. Please dress appropriately for the weather!
Do I have to form a "team" page if I register to participate in the event?
No. The team page feature is a way for you to share your own personal story and why you are participating in the IRIS Turkey Trot. It is also a good way to get sponsorship and donations from friends, family, or anyone interested in supporting IRIS who cannot be there in person. Your personal donations will be tracked on your team page.
Will the event take place if it is snowy?
Yes! This is a rain or shine or snow event!
Can I purchase additional t-shirts?
Yes. Additional t-shirts can be purchased with your pre-registration, and a limited amount of t-shirts will be available on the day of the event. T-shirt prices are $10 each, for youth or adult sized shirts.
How can I volunteer to help on the day of the event?
We are always interested in having more volunteers! If you are interested in volunteering to help with the Turkey Trot, please call the IRIS office at (507) 334-4748
Can I participate in this event if I am not an IRIS parent or have never lost a child?
Definitely! The Turkey Trot is open for all to participate in. The goal is to increase awareness of the incredible support services and educational resources that this organization provides to families who experience a loss in early pregnancy (miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, etc), or from premature birth, stillbirth, neo-natal death, birth defects, SIDS, accident, illness, and all other types of infant and early childhood death.
Can I make my own shirt to honor my baby or loved one to wear on the day of the event?
Yes! People are encouraged to be creative and decorate shirts to designate their "team". Ideas to identify your team include:
- Personalized t-shirts/sweatshirts
- Balloons
- Signs
- Etc.
Will the run be timed?
Yes.
