Someday I’ll know just how it feels
To rock you in my arms for real
Someday I’ll hear your precious cry
Then maybe I’ll understand all the “whys”
Someday I’ll be able to hold you close
To snuggle your neck and kiss your toes
Someday I’ll inhale your baby scent
And do all that for a mother is meant
Someday my heart will have no pain
I’ll be with my baby boy, again
Yes, someday everything will feel right
My life will go from gloomy to bright.
