Forever Loved. Forever Remembered. Forever Our Daughter.
Brooklyn Marie Ward will forever be our daughter and a cherished part of our family. Although we never got to bring her home, she will always have a place in our hearts.
At around 20 weeks, we experienced the heartbreaking loss of our firstborn daughter. After delivery and an autopsy, we learned that Brooklyn had a rare genetic disorder called triploidy. Our strong little girl held on longer than most babies with this condition, surviving into the second trimester and giving us precious time to love her and the dream of the life we imagined with her before saying goodbye.
During the darkest time in our lives, IRIS was a ray of light when everything felt dark. Their compassion and support reminded us that we were not alone.
We participate in the IRIS Turkey Trot each year to honor Brooklyn, keep her memory alive, and support other families experiencing pregnancy and infant loss. Our family and friends come together to create Team Brooklyn because her life matters, her memory matters, and she will always be part of our family.
Brooklyn, you will forever be loved, missed, and remembered. This Turkey Trot is for you, sweet girl. Always and forever, our Brooklyn Marie.
